Hold light came on began flashing and check engine light Aveo Car Forums. Just like any car you have to take care of it. My car has an automatic transmission. The first time at about 37,000 just out of warranty the vehicle started running very poorly. When you simultaneously see both the brake warning light and the warning light for the charging system, it is an indication of a failing alternator. Plan on replacing both the alternator and the battery. The brake light in my car can come on if the parking brake pedaldoes not come up all the way when I release it.
Aveos are pretty cheap cars. I have a 2009 Chevy Aveo. I walked my 13 year old daughter through the repair. My gas cap was loose. Then drive it right after. Unplug the old one and give it a half twist. This was an extremely easy repair.
The hold light has come on two times since I have owned the vehicle. My car has 110000 miles. So i have an 09 chevy aveo5, this is the hatchback model, automatic trans. Be sure theparking brake pedal if it is a push one is all the way up. My car has an automatic transmission. With hold mode turned on, the automatic transaxle will stay in a specific gear range.
When I go up a hill, it doesnt seem to get out of third shift. It my heat is blowing out semi warm. The lack of heat being generated by your system may indicate a clogged heater core. Im probably going to have to take it in to get checked, but i would like to see if anyone has seen a similar problem. If both are good remove the plastic cover from the top of the engine and you will see the Camshaft Position Sensor between the camshafts on a 2005 or earlier Aveo disconnect the plug check the ohm reading between the pins it should be between 460-620 ohms.
You are lucky to drive for 4 months till now but please dont continue it for your safety and cars health. Disconnectinng the battery for 15 mins usually resets aveo service lights if the problem is still there the flashing hold light will come back on. Otherwise the computer runs default values and guesses off of other sensors giving poor performance. The wiring had corroded and had burned away part of the connectors. There is a sensor located at the back bottom of the engine, on the oil pan that senses low oil. I've had it since 2007 and it has been a great car and continues to be a great car. More than likely, after you install a new alternator and connect it to a battery with a full charge, the car will start up right away.
An example is putting the transmission in 4th gear, pushing the hold button, and taking off in the snow. The light came on for no apparent reason. Put the new one in sideways and give it a half twist to lock it in place, then plug it in. This actually went on for some time. The car is warning you of impending disaster.
It worked, i have not seen the light come back on in over a week. First time fault code pointed gear issue, that seems to me quiet right and the mechanic who forced to clear it was a mistake. The check engine light was due to the ignition coil pack being bad cylinder 3 All four need to be replaced at once. Please dont ignore the engine light issues, as it can get really serious and nasty if overlooked. My advice is to take it do a mechanic to get it checked out in case it is very dangerous.
Looks like the existing wires aren't up to handling the load. I couldn't believe i was having another major problem there was no check engine light on this time My guess was that the spinning of the tires could have had something to do with causing the hold light to go on and blink. I have Chevrolet Aveo 2006. This is apparently a common Aveo problem. . Put the gas cap back on and the light will go out in a little while.
