Thanks to its new direct-injection engine, along with a new six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission, improved aerodynamics, and a host of other advancements, the 2012 Ford Focus is more fuel-efficient than the model it replaces—even though it's heavier and packs more luxury and tech features. Some more conservative buyers may deem its new looks a bit too radical, but the biggest hurdle the 2012 Focus could face is one of cost. Admittedly now I'm a bit suspicious of the quality.
Doors close with a nice, satisfying thunk, and door grabs, trim, and center console all seem solidly attached. We found the subcompact Fiesta to be modestly powered at best, with the six-speed PowerShift automatic preferable over the five-speed manual. What really sets the 2012 Focus apart, however, is the wealth of new technology offered here. My 79 year old grandmother loves this car and she is a Caddy Queen!!! Was without care for 2 weeks. Ford also says that it can be recharged in just 3-4 hours on a 240-volt charger. The three cylinder was designed by Ford's U.

It also comes with a new four-cylinder engine that's more fuel-efficient, and a suspension that delivers both above-average handling and a refined ride. Turn-in is very sharp, and, thanks to a superbly engineered front-end and torque vectoring control, the new Focus can carry higher speeds into a corner and hold very tight lines through it. Dealer replaced the module and problem was cleared. Fully dressed, the engine weighs just 214 pounds. Sampling the new Focus at launch was a gob-smack.

Once a full supply of 2013 Nissan Sentras arrives in dealers, the car… When shopping for a car, there are a handful of factors to consider. Even with the front seats pushed fully back there is room for longer adult legs in the rear. Still happens at times, but may be related to my own change in drivings style. The car has to b in the shop for a full day, not just any day, when the clutch guy is there. Fortunately, just about everything in the Focus' cabin tech suite responds to the voice command system. This engine is tuned for efficiency, but it's no slouch in the power department.
Computer had to be reset several times. Now, we're finally getting the quality formerly enjoyed only overseas, and you can see, feel and hear it in the 2012 Focus. It's a good thing the Focus' cabin was reasonably quiet because the stock stereo needed all the help it could get, but we'll get back to that shortly. This includes a number of items usually found only on much more expensive models, ranging from a rearview camera to Ford's excellent Automated Parking Assist, which can neatly slip the car into a curbside spot without the driver ever touching the steering wheel. That's what a driver will feel: 'Man, this car is smoooth.
But as with all electric cars, actual performance will be highly dependent on driving style and environment. Ford has improved this voice command system more, letting you enter destinations by speaking an entire address string, for example. Ford's electric power steering system provides nice weighting and it performs well, providing precise control but not transmitting much feel of the road. It, too, exhibited surprising control and athleticism, eager to dive into corners and then claw its way back out.
This hatch covers Ford's cap-free fuel filler, a very convenient innovation launched previously on other models. So, getting back to the question SpecialK, relax. It shifts differently than you are use to but you adjust fine and now I kind of like it. Handling on the curves is downright fun, and I just love looking at it. I have had mine replaced two times.
Service costs have been reasonable and the Ford promise of a free loan car at every scheduled service has been very convenient. Manual control is available via a rocker switch on the side of the shifter. The new 2012 Focus touts improvements in performance, fuel economy, amenities, and styling over the old model. I've driven Focus rentals from the past and this is not the same car.
