It's a comprimise for now. The stearing wheel controls will be tied into the new head unit which is cool. Honestly, usually the headunit is a pretty big limitation since it will have an eq curve designed to protect the speakers while sacrificing sound quality. I'm going to hit up a local shop and see what they have to say. I bought the truck at an auction so unfortunately I can't take it back for the issue. The menus are very inconsistent though.
The base speakers in the truck are actually not bad - it's the head unit that makes them sound as horrible as they do. In retrospect, I'd go with some kick-ass 8's if I had it to do over. I almost want to go as low end as possible but what is the point of that. Push cable away from assembly to unlock and release from assembly. I am mostly upset over how muddy the stock speakers are. Sad to see that Eclipse no longer does head units.

The base speakers in the truck are actually not bad - it's the head unit that makes them sound as horrible as they do. Stereo is not horrible but I know it is far from good. Stereo is not horrible but I know it is far from good.
Currently now still waiting on a resolution. I want to replace all 4 but i might get better speakers up front. Since my truck is under 5 years old, I'm going to take it to the local Ford dealer later today and see what they say. I have the nav package with the screen and I did not have to take it out. They have whats called the 12M02 customer courtesy program that extends the warranty on the unit from 3 to 5 years with unlimited mileage.
