V10's are great motors, they'll run for a long long time if taken care of. My wife drives my truck, it gets 10 mpg, I drive the same truck it gets 12 mpg. Get it out on the highway. Aside from that, the platform works well for us. If fuel mileage is more important then power, buy an older truck with a 6 cylinder.
